Haven't posted in a while. Just wanted to share a few pics from our trip in Ontario. Might be the last one for a while. Caught hundreds of walleye, and surprisingly hundreds of smallies this time. Pike were a bit tougher, but at least I got my PB Pike on the fly. Heading to Belize next summer, hopefully for a grand slam of bonefish, permit, and tarpon!

Pike was 43 inches. Caught on a 2 inch perch game changer. Which is weird, because normally I would throw a 10 inch fly for those up there. Funny though, I actually caught a walleye on a 6 inch dragon tail fly, but the pike didn't want anything to do with big flies this time.

Walleye are fun to say you’ve done it, but unless you hook into a great big one in some current you aren’t missing much. Them and sauger both kinda fight like a wet rag. Eat well that for sure.

Very true. Wouldn't target walleyes for the fight, but they sure are delicious! I've landed a few 26 inch plus, but other than some head shakes, feels like pulling a small log smile. Other than some short runs, big pike fight OK. Big smallies are still more fun for me. Smallies and carp are my fav in freshwater.
