Ha. My home lake. Was out there other day. If the lake was literally on fire it would be an improvement im sure.

Between the drought, social media, meat hunters due to social media, and tournaments, Choke is officially dead!

there’s no fish in that mudhole! Medina lake is where it’s at!

I'm sure a front rolling in didn't help things, but Snyder Bass Club had their monthly tournament out there a couple weeks ago. 1-2.06 lb fish took home $598.

Big Springs had 23 or so guys fish with us and 4 fish for 8+ lbs won 1st. Had 3 anglers weigh in 1 fish for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

With both clubs if you caught "a" fish, you won money.


There are some giants on the lake for sure, but there are only a handful of guys extremely good with the FFS that are consistently catching them.

What I do like about that lake is on any given day a school of 5-7 lbers can move up on a point or flat and you can catch them on almost every cast. But those days have been few and far between for me this year.



I won a working mans tournament earlier this summer with 3-5 lbers and since then I've caught 1 - 8+ lb fish. I haven't caught a bass in my last 6 trips on the lake, but I have caught 5 limits of crappie during those trips......

Hire Jason Con. He put his clients on a 12 pounder his first trip back since spring. He has the lake pretty figured out it seems.

Fishing depends on who you ask. The realists? The lake sucks. The guides trying to make money, It's on fire!

I think it depends if you are an expert or not at FFS and swimbaits. Don’t hear of a lot of giants getting caught on a 10 inch worm out there lol

This is the case every time I go up there. Still the best shot at a DD I think.
