If you were out of town at the deer camp for the weekend...weren't on call, had no obligations to your employer and they went to your house at 12:45 am because they cant reach you?.....scared my wife and kids to death and its a wonder nobody was bitten by the dogs or worse....It just feels like they crossed a line....turned out their problem had nothing to do with me anyway.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

ask for a raise. evidently you are irreplaceable.

Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.

If you put beans in your chili, you don't know beans about chili.

God doesn't create temporary people, you will spend eternity somewhere. Choose wisely.

I would calmly and professionally state my displeasure at their actions, then let it go

Going forward, you might want to let them know when you'll be out of touch for the weekend or vacation so they don't come looking for you.

I wouldn’t cut my nose off to spite my face here.

I would politely let them know that I am always happy to help when it’s my time to work. I would also politely let them know that if there is some type of expectation for me to be possibly “on call”, then we need to agree on some terms and conditions of that expectation and establish some rules and some pay / compensation for those expectations.

While no one wants other people just showing up at their homes on a random night, keep in mind that situations arise, and some people panic and that’s just the way they handled it.

Many times in my life, situations have come up and my first instinct has been to jump bad on someone. I’ve learned over the years to try to think things through before speaking/reacting strongly. Sometimes, a soft response is OK. Sometimes a strong response is warranted. You are the only one that knows what that decision should be.

Good luck and keep in mind that it sounds like you are wanted and needed at your job, which is a very good thing.
