My last 2 carp trips have been so frustrating. I've literally seen them swim around my baits, avoiding them. I've seen probably a dozen in the shallows, I could have landed them in a cast net if I wanted to.
I've tossed out sweet and spicy dough baits, white bread, range cubes, and even SPAM. But they haven't touched any of it.

It has been incredibly hot, 100º+ days, with no rain for the last 40 days, so I'm assuming that's the issue. Anyone else struggling? Any tips?

I guess it depends on body of water and time of day. I refuse to fish during the day due to the excessive heat. I have also found better luck in moving water. Only using corn.

I talked to a friend today that caught 10 carp up to 11 pounds in 15 to 20 feet of water on dough bait from noon to 4 pm. .

I feel your pain. I’ve used wheaties/strawberry jello, wheaties/strawberry soda pop, wheaties/grape koolaid, cornmeal/flour/sugar/ strawberry, cornmeal/flour/vanilla, cornmeal/flour/sweet corn, sweet corn, and a few others that don’t come to mind. Very limited success. This morning, a carp surfaced and cleaned its gills right where my bait was so I know they’re feeding on something. $*@&$# carp.

"Carp fishing" can be found in the dictionary right between the words "patience" and "frustrating". Method feeders are considered by many to be the best for carp...trouble is every other fish in the water likes them too and usually get there before the carp does.
