Just a reminder, garage sale season is almost over. But there are a lot of community sales in October. There are still some deals out there if you look around. I picked up all this stuff and some more today. Man, That's a nice catch. Around here garage sales are pretty much baby stuff, glassware, and paperback books. Fishing, tools, and the like is rare.

Man, That's a nice catch. Around here garage sales are pretty much baby stuff, glassware, and paperback books. Fishing, tools, and the like is rare. Fishing equipment is rare here also. I probably find good deals in about 1 out of 100 sales. A big secret is to ask if they have fishing stuff to sell. I asked a guy this weekend if he had any fishing stuff and he went in to get a tote he would sell. The garage sale only had toys, dvds, and trash. The guy came to out with this stuff in a tote and sold it to me for $25. That is one heck of a good find. Most of the stuff up here is like what BillS2006 is finding. Haven't seen but 2 or 3 bait casters in the last 5 years.

Occasionally I run across good bait casters, but most of the reels are old beat up Zebcos on broken rods. I like to purchase those, fix them up and give them away to kids that show an interest in fishing.

Garage sales are a “vicious” addiction. Don’t listen to Osborn, he is leading you down a bad path. Soon, you will have a barn full, then, two, oh it’s bad. Then you will have had enough and unload it all. Ha. Just when you believe it’s cured, one fine day, you’re driving along, and there it is, the Garage Sale sign, and all the NO’s, not doing it, fade a way, besides, it’s just one barn. Ha. Man the Hwy 80 Garage Sale is loaded. Several years ago I bought an old junk box of lures, corks, and jigs, got to the very bottom and found a small bag. Had about 50 Barber dimes. Just Say No, right Nancy? Ha.
