I'm looking for a slow roller, what do you suggest? With that being said, what line and size do prefer for a buszzbait? I'm assuming a medium heavy (7' to a 7"3") fast tip is the rod of choice, school me if I'm wrong. When it comes to skirts, do you throw with just a skirt, add plastic, or pull the skirt and fish with just plastic (toad or swimbait)? In my other post no one mentioned anything about MegaStrike Cavitron, any thoughts on this bait? Thanks!!

Cavitron is the only buzzbait I throw. Absolutely love this bait. As far as plastic goes it varies. I'm 80% time throwing a rage bug on mine with no skirt.

As for the rod I never threw any top water lures on a fast tip rod. It is too easy to jerk the lure away from a fish. I used a Shimano 7’ med.tip

I fish on the edge and stay out of the middle

If you want a buzz bait that gets up on top of the water really fast and stays there on a very slow retrieve. Then you may want to give the ones I make a try. Doubt you will be disappointed if you do.

Thanks

These! Only buzzbaits I own. Found these several years ago and haven't looked any where else.

I buy my buzzbait at the local gas station... They're made locally so I figure they must be good. And yes, I've caught fish on them... I use to buy baits called Chatter Buzz, they were made in Indiana, and the gentleman who made them passed away... Dan

It's pretty hard to beat a Lunker Lure!

I like Hart beaters. The double blades allow you to roll it slower. https://harttackle.com/product.php?id=72

This.

Strike King 3 blade is up fast and slow if you want it to be. Always a medium power moderate action 7 foot or so rod. Skirt alone, skirt with swimmin dinger, or something boot tail. Many other options depending on depth desired

The Cavitron is a very good buzzbait. I have a few of these also along with my Lunker Lures.

For me, I don't like a tripple wing or 4 wing buzzbait because "for me" they just seem to be too quiet buzzing in the water. They do work, I just don't prefer them over the flat blade type.
I like to run a buzz bait slow with a plop, plop, plop sound.

Bass Pro Shops Lazer Eye Pro Series Buzzbait

They are cheap and they catch fish. They are squeaky right out if the package

My go to is black and red and I think they are less than $5

Whatever you purchase, buy at least two. Take one out of the package and tie it to your truck every time you travel to the lake. Then experiment with the two…
