Practice was tough. Ran into a fish here and there, but no real pattern. Saturday missed 2 fish at our 1st spot on topwater. Picked up a jig and had a 3lber on shallow rock. Ran a bunch of that and missed two other jig fish. Late in the day partner missed big fish on jig and weighted in one fish. Day 2, slept in and went home after Cowboys win. Couldn't get bit on moving baits at all. We were mid lake and main lake and just couldn't get them to bite.

We had a really tough practice I only caught one keeper on Friday my partner Gary Ables had a little better practice and figured out how to get a few bites. We ended up with a small limit both days for 21.16 pounds for the tournament. All of ours where caught on soft plastics on rocks mostly out of the wind or just around the corner where current was blowing in. We never could figure out how to get a big bite and that ended up being key for everybody that got a check.
Congrats the everybody who cashed a check especially the Moritz Chevrolet Teams and the top 7 who got their share of $5,500.00 we appreciate you guys!!!

PK for some reason has been really tough all summer for most people I have talked to and it seems to play out when looking at tournament results . It however is not alone in that so have many other Texas lakes been tough.

Partner fished all 3 practice days and he covered a ton of water with moving baits. I got out there Wed around 2 when the big storm hit. Joe was on the water during this. I got on shortly thereafter and got off before he did due to lightning in the area. Thursday and Friday we fished 2 full days almost exclusively with moving baits. I fished from the dam to hells gates and then went toward the back of Caddo on Thursday. The no wake zones trying to get in the back of the creeks are a beating. Joe fished the areas I didnt.
Friday I went north, Joe had fished mid north on Wednesday and then fished back down towards the south. The moving baits weren't producing as we thought they would. We basically caught the same amount of fish Thursday and Friday. 4 each if my memory serves me right. Two of mine came on a soft plastic on isolated stumps/trees even though I spent most of the day fishing moving baits and covering water. (alot of bait up north Friday) I couldn't put a pattern together and he didn't either.
We had a tough practice.
We started day 1 on some green lights and had a limit by 930. 2 on the lights and 3 on the docks in the vicinity for 14.5 lbs.
Sunday was brutal. We came in with 3 keepers. One was probably around 6 lbs and a 14 and 15 incher for a little over 9 lbs. Our 23+lbs wasn't good enough. We came in 17th. It seemed like they wanted the bait barely moving.
I did have a 5+lber on a swim jig that jumped a couple of times and spit it out on Saturday. We missed 2 fish and it cost us.
I was amazed at the clarity of the lake, even up north after that big rain. I was happy to see some darker/spinnerbait/chatterbait type water but the visibility was still at least a foot or so up north and I couldn't find em up there like I thought I would.
Out of our 8 fish 2 came on moving baits. Swim jig and crankbait. The others came on a light c-rig fluke and a t-rig craw. We did catch a couple of stripers on a chatter bait and the c-rig fluke.
Great tourney and I would love to hear what the other guys did.
Pms are welcomed!!
