Howdy brothers. Need advice on rail mount rod holders. My setup is a 19" Blue wave been using the bow rod holder, the console holders and the seat rod holders for drifting for catfish. Not ideal with the rods straight up. Interested in Monster rod holders using the rail mount system but last time I used rail mounts they would twist with any significant torque.
Any tips? Personal experience?

Smackdown Rod Holders built for the beast. Switched from Monsters 2 yrs ago and much prefer my smackdowns. Much less rod rocking back and forth in the rod holder like every other I’ve used. Metal turned down so way fewer snags which I love. They have the best rail mounts I’ve seen as well. Use code ElGato10 at checkout and save you 10%.

Drift master pro duo rof holders with driftmaster rail mounts on my 24 ft bluewave do not move at all . Make sure you get the right rail mount so it will tighten down properly .

Fritz I'm using the same setup you are on a 22' Blue Wave..........not ideal but I have been against adding rod holders since I purchased the boat.I'm about beat down but which rod holders make my life easier, add value to my boat and do not interfere with other fishing adventures.I fish pretty much all species.....catfish only during the winter months.I'll look into the Smackdown and Drift Master's plus any other recommendations given...........pics would be nice.

I like the Attwoods. Don't even think about getting the ones Academy sells. I am have a couple of rail mount holders that do well but I fish with bait clickers or free spool. Boat is covered up and[align:center][/align] wet or I would check the brand and get a pic.

I use BeeReady rail mount rod holders on my Blue Wave for drifting. All metal, work great and don't get in the way when you are not drifting.
You can find them on the ProAnglertackle website.

I been using these for 2 years. Drifting, Dragging, Trolling, crappie Fishing very versatile and locks the rod in. The rod don't move no matter how much the boat rocks. Have talked to the husband and wife that own them and they stand behind their product. Stealth Rod Holders

Thanks for the replies I guess my question was more do rail mount holders work than what brand. I took a chance and got the monster holders 33/45 4" RH with their rail mounts and was surprised at how well they resist torque. The rail itself flexes and the rod holders do not move when I pull on them.
Like I stated the previous plastic/composite rail mounts I got were useless. The stainless mounts from monster are machined to almost a suction fit for my 7/8" rail. Just got back home from a trip yesterday so heading out to Granger this morning to test them out will report back.
