Increasing exposure is positive and previously advocated for this aspect. I also believe that the Opens are more compelling and have a greater following than the EQ’s and Elites simply because they are more relatable to the greater populations of occasional tournament, club, and recreational anglers…

I also believe that the Opens are more compelling and have a greater following than the EQ’s and Elites simply because they are more relatable to the greater populations of occasional tournament, club, and recreational anglers… The Opens and EQs are same thing I think.

In total, fishing fans eagerly devoured more than 38.8 million minutes of live Opens coverage across all platforms. But but but, it’s not 982 hours on TV! Of course….not too many watch tv anymore.

I do like the live coverage on the opens but at a certain point won't that start to water down allure of the elites?

They're the same thing. There are three divisions in the Opens with three tournaments each. EQ's are the fishermen that fish every Open, all 9. Those are the ones who can qualify for the Elites through the Opens. It kind of takes away the image that a local trying to make their way up the ladder can get to the Elites. They have to fish 9 tournaments instead of 3. That takes a lot more to do knowing how much more travel and learning that will be required. It appears like they left Texas out.
