Surface water temperature 73 degrees, water clarity good for the most part. Fishing continues to
improve in East Galveston Bay, with cooler air / water temperatures, good tide movement over the past
week, and a mild front that pushed through. We were able to fish near and off the shore reefs this week,
and both areas produced great catches of trout, reds, and a few black drum on our artificial trips. We
also fished Flats around pinch points with current and nervous bait, with great success, when the wind
didn’t cooperate with us. Marker 54 Glide Shrimp with Fish Smack popping corks, with 12” - 18” leaders
have still been producing continuous bites for our anglers, resulting in great success on our chartered
trips. On our live bait trips, live shrimp have produced consistently, and provided plenty of line tugging
action for our fishing clients.

Great job Capt. We were down the week before last and never could get on a good trout bite. The wind was tough all 3 days we fished, except for 1 afternoon and we went and drifted a couple reefs in open water but the tide had slacked off by the time the wind calmed down. We tried several drains with good current but couldn't stay out of the catfish, should have thrown plastics but were using shrimp and mullet instead. We did get out to the jetties all 3 days though and wore the bull reds out, so that was a blast. I had two 8 year olds out with us on the last day and they were wore out after catching a few bulls. HAHA

The wind has not been our friend as of late, but we have had a few days where we can fish where we choose, and the fish have cooperated. Glad you got those kiddos on the Red's as they are fun to catch. Holler at me next time you get down this way and would be happy to share current conditions and point you in the direction of what has been working of late.

Thank you Jeff. I always feel weird reaching out to guides and asking them for info. I know its your job and income and I feel like I am asking too much when I do. I have friends that are guides and they all tell me to call them if I need info but it just doesn't feel right to me. But on the other, when I hire a guide I probably get on their nerves with as many questions as I ask them, haha, I am always trying to learn new stuff when it comes to fishing
