Taking my wife fishing this weekend and looking for a spot within a couple hours of DFW that is fishing good. She gets frustrated and starts napping on the back deck after a couple hours with no bites.

Any recommendations?

Here's my recommendations:

1) Squaw Creek if you can get a spot this weekend. Some folks say you can drive up and get in after 8 AM.
2) Lewisville and fish along the dam and old dam
3) Grapevine fish the dam and cliff to the right of it

Just curious, what is the draw to Squaw Creek? Never been there and see lots of posts on this forum.

It's closed for part of the year and when it opens the fish are kind of dumb. You can catch fish with most in the river this time of the year and talk fishing while fishing.

Also there's a guy name Rodney giving out free fishing advice. He stands

Most of these armchair anglers on the forum can actually catch a bass in that lake, so they jump at the chance to go there.
