It was an identical copy to black dog baits shimmy shad.

The only similarity is they are both mimicking a shad. Body profile and tail are completely different. Search the shimmy shad by black dog baits- not the same thing at all.

I just remember us whacking suspended fish on them, followed shortly by Pack's mag weightless fluke style baits

That technique Pack used takes a lot of patience. I can usually count the bait down, but in working it back to the boat just can't seem to keep myself counting it back down to where it should be! If I am remembering correctly, I have the right color that he spoke about but don't use it when I should!
