Father in law played for Nebraska in the 70s and was the only recruit out of Texas his years there and then later went on to play for Hayden Fry at the then North Texas State University. I looked up his stats once and told him about it, I'm not welcome unless I bring his daughter and grandson with me.

I played my whole little league career with Arthur Rhoades. We grew up a coupe blocks from each other. Dad and I would pick him up for practice when his mother or so couldnt get him there. We both went to Lake air middle school in Waco, then to Richfield, he moved to LaVega high school a year before my Family Moved there as well. Still see him at some golf scrambles and such and we continue to give the ol' double backtap bro hug. Growing up at the little league field with arthur and his brother Ricky made for not so many free snowcones for shagging the foul balls during the games. We couldnt beat em. I figured out years later how good of a coach my dad was when in high school we'd have numerous scouts there to see him pitch. In Little league I was one of the pitchers and Arthur played center and short stop. Then you were probably coached by Mike McGilvray. He was my high school coach at grand Prairie

Not a team, but when I was a teen (he was older) played golf against/with Terry Forcum. He won the long drive contest when it was in its infancy and went on to have a very successful career in it. Now thinking back, he gave me a White Lighting Driver (graphite shaft in the early days of graphite} and it was terrible. LOL
And yes, he could hit it forever. He was a great person and very congenial.

I was extremely turnt and played foosball with an extremely turnt Mike Cameron, Scott Podsednik and some guy that I think was cucking for Dave Winfield. It wasn’t one game and it wasn’t all at one time…it was a night and into the wee hours of the morning. Winfield’s guy didn’t stay very late.
Cameron, Podsednik, me and one or two others stayed up competing in foosball and getting beyond turnt until after the sun came up. At the time, my alcohol tolerance was thru the roof and I was drinking beer. Cameron and Podsednik were slamming vodka. It was that night that I learned nobody on earth can outdrink a big league ball player - nobody!
I had to be at the ball field at 8am for their “All Star Softball Game” in Palm Springs, CA. They had to be on the field warming up at 8am. I was a hurting unit. Both of them were just as spry and fresh and energetic as a human could be. It was one of the most impressive human feats I’ve ever witnessed. Scott had a smoking hot [censored] wife

Played college football at SWT/Texas St. One of our RB's Reggie Rivers signed with the Broncos, his rookie yr he was on the punt return team and blocked a punt against the Raiders late in the game on MNF that the Broncos recovered for a TD to win. Woody Williams (P) with the Yankees went to my HS. He was a senior when I was a FR. Really nice guy tried to teach me to pitch he wasted his time I sucked . Had about 9-10 starters from my HS football team go on to play college football. I went to 4 NFL camps, 1 practice squad for about 1/2 season and played 5 yrs in the Arena Football League. Had a blast when I was younger now I just pass my knowledge on to college, HS and JRHS kickers and punters now.

Played against Patrick Crayton in college. He was an animal in small college ball. Played HS ball with Mike Williams who was the #4 pick in the nfl draft out of Texas in ‘02. Didn’t pan out in the nfl but he was a freak athlete and a damn smart cat. You must of played @ NW St. Oklahoma in Alva, that's where my Dad went. My family has the largest endowment ever pledged to that school. Or at least they did a few years ago. Nice. Played against NWOSU twice. Once in the playoffs when they won the national championship and once in the regular season (against Crayton). Lynn Scott who played with the cowboys for a few years was on the playoff team and he was also a stud. A lot of talent at that school in the late 90’s/early 2000’s.

Lynn Scott was the son of Mike Scott who was an assistant coach of my Dad's when he was at Guymon, Ok. I think his dad went on to Turpin or Balko. There were a couple Borger kids on that team, their names were Bradley and Hooper.

Played against Art Briles in several sports in high school as we were in the same district... 12 miles apart. Went through most of spring training running pass routes against New England Patriots future hall of fame defensive back Raymond Clayborn, at UT in football... that guy treated me shabbily and convinced me football was not fun. Drummed Luis Tiant of baseball fame in a game of golf in Miami, once upon a time.

I saw Largent at the Seattle airport.
Didn't play with him as I did not play HS footbal, but Howie Long went to the same high school I did, but was 2 years behind me.
Used to play hoops with some guys that played on college teams. Playing with them, you find out real quick that they are pretty darned good.
