Well from what I've been reading tournament fishing is going down in a fast spiral. Half the guys are cheating by catching the same fish multiple times. FFS is the Anti - Christ of bass fishing according to some. I'm not sure what the future holds for bass fishing.

"Live sonar improves catch rates some for a very few excellent anglers who devote and dedicate time on the water. It improves catch rates significantly for the best of the best anglers who compete and excel in tournaments.
The 99% remaining anglers, live sonar has a negligible effect."
...and from which orifice did you pull this statistic? I was thinking the same. What a load “let me make up my own percentage” and try to articulate it as a fact.

I actually like watching MLF. I don't have time to watch much of it but its entertaining to me.
FFS is the future. I'd rather flip bushes and see how much water I/we can cover but FFS is really just an improved version of side imaging.
Don't let grass grow under your ??? Is still applicable until you find em loaded in an area.
Jesse Timmons told a story about FFS a couple or 3 years ago about an Elite series guy he was in the boat with. He was covering water with a crankbait and saw a fish come out from a stump to investigate but no catch. He knew the fish was interested so slowed down to throw back at the same stump and he caught that fish the next cast.
Jesse knew this was going to be the game changer from that point on and it is. No longer just for the Crappie guys.

I think they should be required to have a live image of the forward facing sonar on the screen while the camera is on. Would make it more interesting to watch. See what the angler is watching. This. Until then, I've pretty much quit watching, used to watch beginning to end, now too boring. They better get the hint to keep viewers viewing.

Best I recall---long before FFS these Northern small mouth tournaments were boring to watch. Most of the top finishers were doing the same screen watching---- just did it with 2D and DI.

I do not watch E-sports, and I'm not about to watch a FFS event, period. If the viewership is indeed being impacted the leagues will have to figure out something to adjust.

Doubt many here care about smallmouth tournaments just sayin

I watched this video a while back by Andrew Upshaw. He has some pretty interesting comments down both sides of this issue. I've never used FFS so I really haven't been able to form an opinion.

...and from which orifice did you pull this statistic? Only 12% of anglers have a boat. Of those 12% of anglers who have a boat; at least half don't venture more than ten yards from the bank all day. The six percent remaining, half of those are figuring out side scan. Of the three percent remaining; the top 1% will dedicate the time and have the patience needed to utilize forward facing sonar effectively.
