Soft drinks were considered a luxury in my family. My mom would usually buy me one from the vending machine at the A&P Supermarket. A 6 oz Coke was 5 cents in a glass bottle that you had to return to the rack attached to the machine. Coke caused a big uproar when they changed the price to 6 cents, not about the price increase but the vending folks hated that they had to put new change machines on their machines for that 1 cent increase to accommodate a penny.

Mountain Dew until some [censored] claimed it made your pecker shrink. Loved me some Mountain Dew but I couldn’t risk it.

Would have caused internal damage, right?

It sure as heck wasn’t this. Anybody remember how bad a Pommac tasted. The only reason people bought them was to see if they really tasted as bad as everybody said they did.

RC Cola and a Zero

In my house growing up if you didn’t like milk or water you were pretty much screwed.
I would venture to say that there are several drinks I’ve never even tried to this day.

I still will go buy an ice cold Mexican Mountain Dew today and only take a couple sips of it.

Nehi Blue or Nehi Grape

Peach Nehi was pretty dang good with an Eddlemans BBQ sandwich in the summer when we was kids.
