anybody know what kind of fruit this is?....we have a chinese couple as neighbors that has a small tree full of these fruits...we are watching their house/collecting mail/watering flowers for them while they are away on an extended trip and they speak very limited english (and i speak zero chinese) so I'm not sure what kind of answer I would get if i asked them.......

Persimmon; top five fruit.

They are widely available at H-Mart and such end of October to March.

Excellent eating.
