I have a question. Does anyone know Texas lakes where I could set up my tent, next to the water. I know most places have dedicated camp sights away from the water. Thanks

Texas is a big place my friend... can you help out by dialing this down to a more specific region of Texas?

Mike is right, I would suggest narrowing down your location and we can provide as much feedback as possible. Otherwise I would suggest checking out the TPWD website. I personally prefer camping along rivers like the Brazos below PK. However I plan to try and hit one of the Texoma islands this year.

I have never caught a striper and would like to learn how to do so. I have always liked chasing sand bass with an ultralight and road runner.... Stripers seem like sand bass fishing for big boys... LOL.

LOL. Sandbass are SUPER thick on Texoma. I typically hit the point just outside of the public boat ramp by the dam. If I can really get in to them I can find a few stripers under them or just mixed with them at the surface. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/09/full-36211-198605-2020_07_17_12_04_09_lake_texoma_google_maps_li.jpg)

Lake O’ The Pines is another good one. Pretty sure Fork has camp grounds next to the water but I’ve never stayed there.
Little further drive but Arkansas has killer campgrounds right on the water at Ouatchita, Nimrod, Bull Shoals, etc. I’m heading up to Nimrod in the morning for 3 days camping and fishing.
Download recreation.gov app and it’ll give you access to every Corps lake campground, reservations, let you see the campground from satellite, pick and reserve your spot next to the shower, the water, whatever you want. Most of them are only about 20 a night with a 20a plug and running water.
