for tomorrow? I’m sorry I just don’t take pictures of fish anymore but if I get on them I’ll report my learnings here.

Any report (good or bad) is a good report.

The Cedar Creek boys will be out in force there tomorrow, hopefully catching fish.

My barometer has been holding steady through this whole ordeal. I'm actually pretty excited about tomorrow. Stay off my spots!

I wish. It's just a long day when you have to drive so far one way. I can walk out the garage, hook up and be taking away from the dock in 25 minutes on GV. Adding a good hour and fifteen minutes one way to that is tough.

Yesterday was one of those days I wished I didn’t have to drive almost two hours to get there. My first cast I got a quick strike miss. After that and the rest of the day I had another short strike and a hookup that quickly shook the hook and about a 20 lb mudcat that I hooked in the tail. That was at least 5 minutes of fun.

Some observations

Lake temp was 79-80
Schools of shad are balled up everywhere at the surface from the state park to the bridge.
There was a lot of dead fish on the water. Some of them really stink and were in the areas I usually catch.
The worst thing I could possibly imagine for fishing happened yesterday. There is a time that gar seem to take over the lake and that was the case yesterday. Gar and catfish were almost the only thing I marked from the dam to the bridge.
They have taken over the upper water column. Seems to me and it’s only a guess that the lake has started it’s turnover process.
I don’t target sandbass but cloud point in all depths seem to have a lot there if that’s what you want
As far as the bigger fish go I think they are extremely scattered right now but it shouldn’t be long before they start gathering up!

Fished yesterday from 7:30 - 6:30
It was really tough for me until around 12. I was just about to leave because of the wind. It got brutally gusty for a while. I figured I’d try one more spot and technique and I’m glad I did. The big stripers were grouped up and ready to eat. Feeding with them was what I think were sunshine hybrids. I might have changed my opinion on these. Quite a few of these bust the top of water while reeling them in almost like a smallmouth! Pic attached of one of them if anyone can verify. They seem to be in the 20-22 inch range. I was down by the dam in 10-15 ft. Caught around 25 of the big striper, several catfish, tons of sunshine bass and lots of white bass. Most of the white bass I caught was after leaving the dam area to check other spots in that 10-15 ft range. Averaged a fish every 5-10 minutes until I left and my net broke in two so overall a good day to fish.
