October for sure. Weather is generally cool and stable. College football is in the middle of its schedule and usually full of conference games for most teams.
It's also the last month of "normal" before the holiday madness of Thanksgiving and Christmas kick in at full speed.

April for me but October is a close 2nd.
April is the prettiest time to be outdoors; drives out in the country to marvel at fields of bluebonnets, indian paintbrushes, and other assorted wildflowers; fishing in the blooming lily pads, and my personal favorite, smelling the fragrant honeysuckles. I don't even mind getting rained on.
October has baseball playoffs, basketball & hockey starting up, Friday night lights, and awesome fishing. The downside to October is that NFL takes over everything.
