My concern would be, if oil can come out, water can get in. At the very least change the oil and look for water.

My concern is where I am finding the oil now. Im running my fingers across the top of the back fin part of lower unit. Am I going to have to drop the whole lower unit? I have never done that so don't know if their are gaskets to replace. Gonna research some videos but really hope I don't have to go there.

Basd on Video, oil is on TOP of the lower unit. That would indicate Power Head, Crank Case leakage IMO. MAYBE last engine oil change was a bit sloppy and oil leaked into mid section.

I would eliminate Lower unit concern based on oil ABOVE lower unit and found in mid section.

Since you are storing it in the down position, check the area around your Tilt & Trim cylinders. I started noticing some oil in the same place as you and traced it back to the Tilt Cylinder Seals.
That may not be it, but it is worth checking out before you tear something down trying to fix the leak.
Good luck.

Assuming that's a 2 cycle engine (not familiar with Yamaha), there's an oil reservoir under the cowl. If that's a direct injection oil system, oil could be coming from a leak in that oil system. Pull the cowling off and look for oil residue on the power head and on the bottom of the pan. Also, the suggestion about checking the hydraulic tilt cylinders is worth looking at. Lower unit grease is thick viscosity, and 2 cycle oil is light viscosity. That appears from the video to be light oil.

I had this happen to me this summer. Boat was not being used except once this summer as I was in cast for wrist reconstruction. Snugged up drain plug a little and it stopped. But this leak was very small drops, and I had done maintenance shortly before my surgery.
