I recently turned 17, so I must purchase a license now. Due to poor planning, we renewed my only form of Photo ID (my passport/passport card) expecting that we will get my current passport back until the new ones come in. Unfortunately that was not the case and it'll take 8-10 weeks for my new passport to come in.

we had to let off on my yearly salmon trips (which was heartbreaking as it's practically a spiritual trip for me now), but then we realized i can't go fishing at all without a license now that im 17. I was planning to go trout fishing at lower illinois, but i am unsure if i can get a license without offical Photo Identification. It'll be a real bummer if i have to wait since my permit appointment isnt until 11/14 and my passport will take until December. I'll probably be insane by then if i don't get on the water!

that being said, what form/id can we use or am i out of options other than waiting?

They asked me for my driver license.

so you have no official form of ID? purty sure that is against the law in most towns.

i have my birth certificate ss etc etc but no photo id. they took both my passport card and passport

as i said in the original post, i was getting a new passport/passport card because i turned 17 (ds-11). The lady at the office took my current ones and said we'll receive them in the mail when i receive my new passport book and card

Do you have a drivers license? Don't you drive?

not yet, im still waiting on getting my permit

If you are trying to get your Texas Fishing License have you tried going online at Texas License Connection and creating an account using either your Social Security Number or Passport Number?

go get a plain state id.

go to the drivers license office with birth cert. and your passport info as backup, get a plain id and then go get your license.

this is also a cya move for you should leo have reason to interrogate you and make you sign zee papers!

get the tpwd app, and it will have a copy of any licenses you get as well as your info.

you may be able to buy one thru the app. I get mine with it in about 5 mins. when I renew.
