Anyone have thoughts on why the A-rig was banned and FFS isnt? I dont think either one should be banned, but it seems FFS has given a bigger advantage that the A-rig had before it was banned.

Im not trying to beat the old horse. I am seriously asking what is it about the A-rig that got it banned. I figured people on here would have some answers. Wasnt looking for more "FFS should be banned" drivel.

IMO-- What did it cost them when they banned the A-rig? ---- (nothing) What would it cost them if they banned the latest greatest product from three of their big time sponsors?----(money)

To keep the sponsors happy, I would allow it in practice and the 1st 2 days of a four-day derby. Then, when the big bucks are on the line, let skill determine the outcome.

Most of the custom ARig builders can’t afford to put gas in their boats…they surely can’t afford to be a title sponsor for a pro level trail.

Wasnt looking for more "FFS should be banned" drivel. I think it was mostly because they determined you were fishing with 3 baits at a time on a 3 rig A rig and 5 baits at a time on a 5 wire A rig and they determined that you should be fishing with only 1 bait at at a time. So why wasn't the double fluke rig banned? Its all about perspective i guess.

I've been watching a lot of MLF and some BASS tournaments lately and noticed how many Humminbird and Lowrance commercials are ran during the broadcast. Weigh that in your mind when thinking about banning FFS.

I think the only way Randy gets anywhere on this train of thought is at the state level, as long as the money is flowing it won't happen with the larger tournament circuits. The state of Louisiana has adjusted their crappie regulations to ADAPT to FFS. The best I can remember they've done something similar to a slot limit. I've heard some things from other states as well, so they are looking at this. With largemouth bass, I can't see any reason to mess with that mainly because most folks catch and release.

If I remember right it was the anglers at BASS who wanted them banned then pushed BASS to make them illegal... So if it's what the anglers of a certain trail want to ban them who are we to stop them???... Dan
