So im curious how is the fishing on Squaw when it first opens on 10/1 with water temps im sure being very high still? Fishing there in the colder months makes sense as the water is warm.

Does that mean they are impossible to catch everywhere else? Or are they just not there and all move up in the river?

Well I went the first day last year and went south and only had 1 bite all day. Went back the next day and went to the River and fished the River channel and was within site of 50-60 boats and caught 90 fish with 3 people and everyone was catching fish.If it is like last year they will be doing that for about 6 weeks and then they start moving down lake and into the backs of the creeks to spawn

Thanks for the info. When you say "went to the river" do you mean must go up into the river completely? Or is the entire far north end of the lake good?

Most boats end up in the Comanche Creek area (formerly Squaw Creek) there is room for a few up in the creek but most fish the creek and the flat before it narrows down. Lollar Creek is smaller and busy also. You will see the boats. If you are all alone in a cove in October you are probably in the wrong spot. If the surface temp is over 95 the bass are deeper. We have discussion on this every year if it hurts the bass to be pulled out of the deeper cooler water under the 105 degrees and then dropped back in. There are plenty to be caught shallow. Save the deeper ones for the winter tournaments. The bass in the creeks are usually 10 ft or less and schooling shad. It is difficult for most people to keep the bass alive in the livewells with that kind of surface temp so weigh in tournaments are discourage until the temps drop down. There are some who catch them at 50 ft and can keep them alive all day all year round. They can chime in with the best ways to handle that if you do find a early tournament to enter.

Does that make you feel good? Being a jerk to someone you don't even know for no reason at all. I feel sorry for you.
