Over the past 8 months arthritis in my hands has gotten pretty bad. Seeing a Rheumatologist on Thursday.

Anyone else dealing with arthritis in their hands?

Yes, base of thumbs are particularly bad. Knees and neck too. My cardiologist told me up to 4000mg a day of extra strength Tylenol, but I usually only take 1500 if I need it at all.

Had to have a bone at the base of my thumb removed because of it. Have arthritis in my hands, shoulders, knees, feet. Getting old isn't for everyone. roflmao

Dawg, I’m not a doctor. That being said, careful with that Tylenol as it will cause liver and kidney damage. Especially if you enjoy the drink a bit more than moderately. My Doc told me to drink moderately, I’ve yet to find that brand…

bc arthritis powder, alka seltzer plus cold/flu.

I use about 12 oz. of water, mix the 2 and drink. try it for a week, has helped my osteo arthritis for about 12 yrs. now.

I don't take that daily, only when the hands hurt (which is often).

Yup, I’m a light drinker at best and only take 6 Tylenol a week or so. I was actually surprised he gave me a green light for that much. But I never take 8 a day

I do not have arthritis in my hands, thank God, but do have it in my back and hips. I take 2 Tylenol Arthritis and 3 Ibuprofen every night. Sometimes I may have to take a fourth Ibuprofen due to my hip giving me an issue, but that's it. The Tylenol Arthritis really is quite effective for me.

Sugar, and different foods, will/can make inflammation throughout your body much worse. You may actually benefit by talking to a dietician and changing your diet. One of the reasons I eat so many sweet potatoes is because they are very anti-inflammatory.

This is way above the recommend 24 hour dose. It’s hard on the liver where it metabolizes so verify.
ADVIL is hard on the kidneys as it works using the receptors there, also bleeding.
BC powder is aspirin/ASA, it affects platelet aggregation so don’t cut yourself you all.

My daughter is an OT and she just advises me to give the hands a work out.

It runs deep in my family. My sister gets an injection once a month I believe and it's in the $25k price range. Since they have a feeling the meds they gave me didn't help any with my renal cancer I no longer can take anything for the pain. Some days are better than others but none are getting any better.

Yes, I have a lot of pain from arthritis, and a lot in my hands.

Three things that I know for a fact, help.
They do not cure, but they do lessen pain, thus "help."

1. Hylaronic acid supplement.
2. sour/tart cherry juice -- buy a jar for $5.99 from WalMart, and drink about 3 big gulps each night before bed. After a week, go every other night.
You will learn your body/hands, and you will then determine your own regiment.
3. Cold/ice! Cold helps lessen pain. Enough said...

Heal well!

Go to Tractor Supply and buy some DMSO, you will thank me later. It is horse lintament and work well . just rub it in well and keep it away from your face ( Sulfer )

When they had me doing PT for mine, they prescribed Isotoner Arthritis Compression gloves for me to wear at night to help reduce the swelling in the hands. Still use them most nights. Also got some of those silicon wedding bands to wear instead of the metal wedding ring as the swelling/knuckles increased.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!
