is there a lake in texas for yelloe perch? can anyone tell me about New mexijco for the species. it is too hot to go to lake erie for them and storms have bnasially shut it down for quality fisfing. planning of a fall trip for them somwhere.

USGS Texas page for yellow perch but the odds are against you for catching one.
And if it's too hot at Lake Erie, you're not gonna like fishing here.

I have never caught one in Texas. I have caught many up north with the biggest coming from one of NY finger lakes using live crawdads.

Its not too hot up north, you can catch them all summer, weedy areas, I fished for them in WI.
The biggest are caught in the winter, thru the Ice.

I remember catching what my Dad called " ringed perch" in Eagles nest reservoir in New Mexico. I think they are the same as
yellow perch up north. ( I could be wrong) When I was in grade school, we would go to that area a lot. Mostly fished for
trout in the Cimarron Canyon area,

If you want Yellow Perch. Head to Eagles Nest in New Mexico. It has a bunch of good ones in it.

We have some in a few eastern side lakes up here too. Along with walleye.
