I was lucky and took the day off today and went fishing. when I started up the hill to get my truck and trailer after the trip. I noticed something different about my rig. Trailer jack was down, safety chains unhooked and lights unpluged, seems like someone liked my trailer, fortunely I have pin locks on my hitch and my trailer tonge, probably the only reason I still have it. beware if you don't lock your trailer you need to.

Probably Ray Bob and I'd almost bet it was the Buck Creek ramp...be a good place to set-up an all-day stake out waiting for those rascals to try it. Nab them and take them for a ski trip through the timber at 60-mph. Maybe they'll think twice about trying it again.... laugh

I use McCown almost always on Whitney. Thanks for the heads up! McCown is a Corp of Engineer park. There is only 1 State Park on Whitney. I've heard of kids just unhooking trailers and running them down the ramps also, in particular at the Old Schoolhouse ramp on Aquilla. Talking about a secluded ramp. Too much no good **** goes on there.

Hey guys this is a problem for me because I have a 1979 Ranger with a '79 Ranger trailer and the latch on the tongue does not have a place to lock so my question is what can I do. When I trailer down the road I have bungee cords wraped tight around so the latch doesnt pop up but that does not keep someone from messing with it.

Jay-you might be able to put a different receiver on it that has a way to lock it. I've even seen them at WalMart.

My tongue on the boat is all one piece theres no way that I know of to replace where you lock the trailer down at on the ball theres no hole to run a lock through and the latch is all one piece and I dont see anywhere you can unscrew and replace.

Or wrap you a chain through your wheel and the axle and padlock it. Don't forget to remove it before you start backing down laugh

Just drill you a hole in the area where the ball rest when attached and put a lock there. Do it in a way that does not effect the structural integrity of course. Simple enough.
