After spending the summer fishing in Idaho over the summer, I'm ready to get back at it here in Texas. Picked up a new 8wt rod and all of my buddies who fish on the coast have begged me to get a good reel for the salty fishing we'll be doing. Anyone have a Hatch or Tibor for an 8wt rod, or know any place with some good used ones? I don't need a brand new one, that's for sure. I'm in Dallas but in College Station quite a bit.
PM me if you've got any leads on anything.

UPDATE: After talking with Texas Fly Catcher, he told me to check out 3-Tand to kick the tires. I read up on them and check feedback and shot them a note via their "Contact Us" page. The next day, my phone rings and it's the owner of the company!! Ron couldn't have been any nicer. He asked what I was looking for and then proceeded to steer me in a direction he thought would be the perfect entry model for my bass and saltwater fishing. He has texted me and sent pics along the way of what I'm getting and the line he spooled it with. If their reels are as good as their customer service, consider me SOLD! Here is what he's sending me. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/08/full-1194-196117-img_3748.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/08/full-1194-196118-img_9783.jpeg)

Hope that works for you. I have heard nothing but good things. Just one of those brands that flies under the Texas radar I guess.

I too have heard good things about them, but I have no personal experience to offer.

Just be sure to always always wash it off with fresh water. Even if you don't fish the reel, they pick up the salt in the air and so does the spool and line. If you do a long exposure, soak the reel in a little bowl or plastic container of GOOD fresh water. The drags are sealed these days, and my Hatch reels don't leak through the seals and neither do my Sage reels for that matter.

And of course, back off the drag too!

This is a good store in Corpus and almost a "tourist destination" for me! You can see everything - every single thing - some fly companies carry, in person, in one place ... a giant candy store. https://www.roysbaitandtackle.com/sale/
