Forward facing sonar has been part of the win in most all of the BASS elites tournaments this year . And a lot of the opens wins also .
Not real sure about MLF . Don’t really keep up with them like I do BASS . But it seems if you are not scoping you are only hoping .

Will there be a change about using them or is it going to continue to be what we see in professional fishing ?

I don’t care one way or the other . I have no skin in the game .
But there is one on my boat and it is an unbelievable tool.

It sure makes it boring to watch. Id much rather watch Hackney flip a jig or Rojas skip a frog 20 feet deep under some over hanging brush. I tried to watch today but gave up after watching them not even casting unless they saw a fish on the screen.

But I guess the technology has finally become a true "fish finder"

Oh... and I kept thinking about all those years we thought open water suspended fish were not catchable.

Wasn't that long ago we were watching them with 2d and drop shot. That's way more boring than livescope.

You should find another, more exciting sport if comparing which is more/less boring for you. roflmao

I think they should be required to have a live image of the forward facing sonar on the screen while the camera is on. Would make it more interesting to watch. See what the angler is watching.

I'd like to see a tournament where all sonar units had to be turned off, I bet the shallow water fishermen would lap the field.

Is there a pro who doesn’t have one on their boat? Not a big deal if everyone has access to it.

I don't care one way or another but I turned it off and won't watch guys drive around on a TM staring at a screen. They don't even get excited when they catch a fish, just not fun to watch. I will probably catch less fish but will happily continue to bass fish in the traditional cast and hope way.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Is it your opinion that the people who can figure out livescope are too stupid to figure out how to go flip a boat dock or a bush?????

Agree, bass tournament fishing from a boat is almost unwatchable these days; there is no struggle to find fish or keep the boat in position. It would be like watching pro golf with nobody driving it into a bunker or the woods.
The kayak fishing tournaments are more enjoyable on TV as they will have a hard time in the wind, most don't have live sonar, and those that do have live sonar manually rotate it with their hands.
The kayak fishermen look more active and involved. Watching a professional angler with their head down looking at a screen as if a teenager on a cell phone is not only boring, but irritating.

It's unwatchable because they don't edit it down to 30 minutes or an hour of catches only. If you went back to the 90s and watched guy pitch bushes for 8 hours resulting in 6 bites that would be equally as bad.

Yes, John Cox says his is laying in the backseat of his truck. And he still wins lots of money.

This one was even worse than normal because the fish were just suspended in open water not even on structure. About as interesting as snapper fishing.
