Don’t you dare fish on the same lake as these pros, they demand RESPECT!

these guys are whiners next they will want to shut the lake down so they can have their tournament they dont mind rubbing rubrails with other boats when fishing they need to suck it up an do their job.

I agree that the tone is undesirable, but I also realize that these guys do this for a living - not recreational fishing.

The tournament angler in me happens to agree.
Does tend to put a damper on my fun meter when I hear another tournament gets on top of one, I signed up to fish. Especially on some smaller bodies of water.

Not a good look on them....I agree with some points about showing respect. There seems to be some delusion in their bubble. We share the water, we share the sponsors, we share responsibility about being respectful, and we share the comradery of being anglers.

I agree, tournaments fishing on top of each other is not ideal or look good on trails. But you cannot stop the average joe from fishing, just because you're out there.

I'm also a tournament angler and was a TD for several years. I would do my research prior to making schedules. If any tournament coincided with another, I would call their TD and I would work it out with them. It showed that I was respectful and meant no ill will towards their trail.

Wow, I'm surprised at their response. They had 40 Anglers at most on the water on any given day on a huge body of water, that was also allowing trailering.

I couldn't imagine them fishing a 150 boat field on a much smaller lake and see how they would feel about that.


I don't care if they are fishing for $100,000 or $100, no one has any more right to a lake than another guy. I mean it is silly for a smaller circuit to schedule on top of a professional circuit. If I realize a large tournament, whether professional or not, is going to be on a specific body of water, I'm going to avoid that lake if possible. But no one organization is more entitled than the next.

Last Tuesday, we had 5 boats show up for our working man’s tourney. 4 too many.

Not a tournament fisherman but I fish almost every weekend of the year on Rayburn and if the other popular lakes are getting as many tournaments as Rayburn how the hale could you not schedule on top of someone else? Maybe schedule one from midnight to 6 am. I’m thinking about starting a Junior High School tournament trail, schedule them on top of the High School tournaments.

A lot of tournament winnings turned back in from that group of whiners
