Not just saying this because I own one, it is my favorite boat I have had, I think I have had around 17 new boats in my old feeble life. I will never forget when Perry posted the first pictures of a Caymas, I said no way I would buy one, and I am a big fan of Earl Bentz, went and crawled around in one and bought one without driving one, but I did talk to several old Triton guys about the boat, they all convinced me I would be very happy with the performance and ride. The listing problem is easily solved by balancing out your load or trim the engine a click or two up and it goes away quickly, about the only thing I think they could really improve on is the medallion gauge, it is not very accurate on the gas .

Love mine. Bought in April 2022 and have almost 300 hours already and no issues. Great ride, runs 70 easily, 74 if you need it to. I have been in some pretty big water with it too, and the pucker factor was as minimal as I can imagine it ever being in water like that. Massive front deck. The only complaint I have ever had, and i had it prior to buying, is the wasted space that could have had a compartment added. It is not lacking storage at all, but I like to have a small compartment or 2 for easy access, rather than digging around large compartments for some items.

I wasnt sure about them before buying, but they were the only boat with inventory in 2022 so I decided to give it a try. I am sold on the brand and the boat, I cant imagine buying another brand next time.

We're starting to see a bunch here in E. Tennessee which is Skeeter country... Bunch Marine is selling them by the truck load from what I hear... Dan

I have been running a cx20pro for 3 years now. Zero problems. Would definitely buy again.

Sounds nice! They look good on the water. I know I'm on my last skeeter I'll ever buy. If I tear it up beyond repair capabilities, I would consider a Caymas.

I can't bash on all of the Caymas boats, but I do know three that have had major issues. Ozziefish's boat has major issues. Idling over a stump should not crack the hull and his does that. We had his boat on stands and could push up on the hull 3 inches and that's not good. I have been in contact with Caymas over his boat and they said he must have hit something and broke a stringer. It's the same way on both sides of the boat with no signs of major impact. He developed a leak on the keel (small pin hole dripping water). We took the gelcoat off to see what the issue was and found that they had drilled a 2-inch hole saw hole in the keel and repaired it half azzed (Caymas did pay me to repair this correctly). The transom flexes so bad the back lid fly's open going down the lake and breaks the latches everytime. Just last week the boat developed a basketball dent in the passenger side of the boat. After multiple conversations with Caymas they have agreed to take the boat back and inspect it. Hopefully they do the right thing with his disaster of a boat. Thats just the boat the trailer is another equally as bad.

Holy cow! Leaking is one thing but a transom flexing is horribly dangerous! When you start seeing things like a 2in hole saw hole that wasn't repaired properly, that's a sign that the quality control is not good. Sounds like they owe him a new hull to me. I hope they make it right.

He needs to contact Earl Bentz direct, I cannot imagine him not replacing that hull if what you say is fact. I have Earl's cell number if he needs it.

Good god. If this is true and the boat wasn't abused, then Caymas is out of the running for my next boat.

I don't know many Caymas owners, but the ones I do including myself, and on the Caymas Owners FB page pretty much all love the boat. The most common issues I've read about is the back latch and the trailer.

The back latch issue has been fixed with a slam latch, the leg on the prior latches was pretty long and bent very easy. Trailer issue was mostly in the first year, it was a loading issue that many could I figure out. I’m sure that the boat mentioned will be made right by Caymas and don’t think other manufacturers haven’t had nightmare boats built and sent out, boats, trucks any made can have issues from time to time. It’s how the manufacturers handle it is the real question.

does anybody ever wonder why there are so many gator hulls an gorilla hulls that accumulate on lake fork. it may be running into an over the stumps during flucuating depths of water over there . an the tons of solid stumps there is in the east tx lakes.
