Hopefully......if you live in northeast Texas and walk outside this morning, you'll notice the wind has switched around from the north and is blowing pretty hard. I stepped outside this morning just a little after daybreak and experienced something I don't think I've ever experienced in the month of August in my 6 plus decades, a blue northerner blowing in. Obviously, it didn't turn cold but there was a definite temp change. Will this mark the end of the triple digits, we'll see. Come on fall bass fishing!

Think we have at least another month down here. We took boat out for evening cruise last night and when I went to take off trailer I notice key switch turned on since 4th of July so starting battery dead. I sweated buckets swtiching the wires to one of the trolling motor batteries and was about to just say F it but my little 11yr old female deckhand had her heart set on playing on that lovely river sand sand bar that we frequent so we went anyway.
I cut grass as side biz and this months gonna be real bad if we dont get some kind of rain. Everybodys yard dead, except ours as we have an irrigation well and run it 2x per day.
Watch it happen, make it happen, or say what the hell happened. Capt. Phil Harris F/V Cornelia Marie RIP

I have a mostly Saint Augustine yard; about an acre, that I mow myself. I don't irrigate it because the cost is too prohibitive. It is still fairly green even with this hot spell. It does get water from a clear stream sewer system. I used to listen to a guy on one of the DFW radio stations that has a horticulture degree from Texas A&M and he'd talk about how to best maintain a yard in hot weather. One of the things I learned from him was not to mow my lawn when it is stressed. It can get a little on the shaggy side in the summer, but it will mostly stay green, but when we finally get enough rain for me to cut it, it is absolutely beautiful. I've got a few friends that do lawn maintenance either part time or full time and they are probably feeling the financial pinch as well.

Considering they are calling for 108 where I'm at today I do not think this marks the end for anything other than my dead grass.

74 here this morning. They were calling for 82. Think we have a front stalled out over us up here. Even had a tiny bit of rain. Would have gone fishing if I'd known it was going to cool off a little.

That’s it. I’ve got to get me a different weather app! Mine always has such a depressing outlook! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/08/full-34948-193582-img_3859.png)

What are you considering north TX? We didn't have that today here around Fort Worth.

One month from today, September 6, the average high and low are 90 and 70. I'd love to see 70 in the morning right now.
