I am pretty sure some of you have had to do this.
I have watched many YouTube videos talking about replacement vinyl windows. I have also looked at online reviews. Some are old some are new many I don't think the reviewer understood what they were buying.
Some say that vinyl will fail from the TX sun. I had a few windows replaced about 7 yrs ago with no problems. So I guess maybe its the design. By design, I am talking about the reinforcements within the voids of the frame and the type of vinyl used. Spacers glass argon silver for heat gain. All that I have gleaned from the internet boils down to is it installed correctly / the frame stand up to the heat and does not melt or get chalky over time. (some say they fail in 5 to 10 years)
The seals around the glass (they are warranted for life.
Based on all this and I am sure what is real anymore...... Like comparing a chevy to a ford (they both get you down the road)
The cost is ridiculous. I could buy a new card for this.
Can anyone give me their experiences and recommendations?

We built 22 years ago using a company called HR Windows which came from McCoys. Windows were warranted for 10 years, we have lived here 22 years.
All the windows failed to remained sealed and clouded up between the panes over time. All have been replaced some for free others we paid for others.
It’s kinda like in fishing, buy the best you can afford and it will last longer.
I’d like to replace with Pella Windows but haven’t pursued it yet.
Not sure about replacing window frames in a brick home, could be complicated.

Had our entire house windows replaced 12 years ago with Pella's through Lowes. Made a huge difference in electricity costs.

We replaced all of ours (27 of them) in 2006, only 1 has had a seal go bad. $99 deductible to replace it. They are all vinyl, no fading or cracking yet. Life time warranty on screens and windows from Champion. It was painful then to have them replaced, I could only imagine the cost today.
Best of luck with whom ever you choose!

Take a look at MI Windows. I have been hauling them for 12 years. My company took over the contract. Vinyl is the way to go. We deliver all over the Southeastern States and up to Pennsylvania. I've deliver to many to S.Texas. The new Vinyl being used will hold up. My son built a Barndaminium in Weatherford. He put all MI Vinyl windows on his house. Be sure and get an insulated window with a good Low E rating. Also get a tilt slider. Your wife will thank you. Installation is also a big key. If they are replacement windows the old windows will literally be cut out. The main key in Installation is not tightening the screws to tight. It will put the windows in a bind. And making sure they use a top tier caulk. Do not go cheap. Make sure you get the solar screens. They help a lot.

We considered full window replacement until we saw it being done and checking the Manufacturers videos on HOW to properly install windows in a house. Anderson for example shows how to seal around the top of the frame and sides with membrane layers, then how to secure the windows to the frame. Well, if you think of a brick faced house, you cannot properly install a window without removing the brick. Most of the jack-leg day labor window replacement companies simply "sawz-all" the old windows out, the slap the new window in and apply 8 tubes of caulking around them. Many have reported leaks after windows installed this way. No thank you. So we went with changing the Window Glass only and leaving the frames. Low-E options to reflect sunlight. Yeah, they are aluminum frames but they are secure and not leaking. To each their own, that is my opinion.

I did my whole house with Window World about 7 years ago. Cost right around 10k for 20 "openings".
Very happy with them to this day! No issues at all. More than paid for themselves in heating/AC cost compared to the BS tract home circa 1999 windows the house had. Cuts down on outside noise in a big way and they look great. Anyone sitting on the fence I would suggest doing this project. Its not a flashy as a bathroom glam up but really improves your enjoyment of the house...
I did have one window crack. Looked like a rock or BB hit it. Faces the street so could have been some kids messing around or something. They replaced that for free under the lifetime warranty.
Anderson quoted me $82,000. I am not kidding. I thought they were joking.

Anderson prices are just crazy, you might as well just buy a new home. I had 20 old windows replaced in 2021 using Best Buy Windows, double pane, and very happy with the results. Significantly quieter, insulated, lower utility costs, no condensation in cold weather, plus more. All custom measured and built to fit. 3 of my neighbors have done the same and all have been satisfied as well. https://www.bestbuywindowsandsiding.com/

Look for Amazing Exteriors in your area, they have Infinity Windows by Marvin. Made in the USA. They ship more windows around the world than they sell in the USA. Frames are molded fiber glass and made to order.
