I did mine on my last trailer. Very easy to do.

There are a lot of people that advertise this exact thing in the classified section of the TFF. I’d look there, if you choose not to do them yourself. Most will even do them at the ramp, while you fish.

You should look into replacing with these if you're planning on keeping your boat for a while.

Steez

Did you replace the boards on yours too or just pull the old carpet off and replace it?

There is a place on hwy 17 at lake Fork that does fantastic work. They work on your trailer while you are fishing.

I bought boards and covered them, then put the boat in the water and used a cordless impact and stainless bolts. I did it decent. Counter sunk the bolts and used stainless nyloc nuts. The wheel well boards were 3/8 abs and I covered those with the boat on the trailer. Not a bad job at all. Important to use stainless 1/2” staples too.

My skeeter built trailer is half assed. The factory used stainless bolts on the installation, but the staples were not stainless and the carpet was about to fall off after a year of use. I went back and restapled the carpet with about a zillion stainless steel staples and it’s doing good now.

Gotta use glue and stainless everything.

I went with Gatorbak also. I'm fishing 5-6 days a week and the bunk carpet never dries and I started worrying about hull blisters. It took an afternoon to strip the carpet, remove the million staples and install the Gatorbak covering... Give them a call Jonathan Van Meter a call and he'll get you all fixed up... Dan

The trailer is on my truck. Great job every time, too easy. Around $300? new boards and carpet. He has a good sized shop by Willams creek /Hwy 17.

I did one about 5 years ago and it's not that hard to do. I went full tilt and put in new bunk boards as well. I bought my bunk carpet from Bass Pro and bunk boards at Lowes. I assembled the bunk boards before installing them and then all I had to do was remove the boat from the trailer and get after it. If you have access to a low usage boat ramp you can take the tools you need and install them there in the parking lot. It goes pretty quick at that point. Just make sure you take plenty of measurements for positioning the bunks.
