should i feed my outdoor flowers, tomatoes, fig tree, & shrubs
right now
does the feed make them work too hard
in this heat ?

Not sure about the trees and shrubs, but I fertilize my peppers/vegetables, potted flowers, and hanging baskets with Miracle-Gro weekly.

Yeah you're fine. If you follow you MG label it's probably something like a tablespoon +/- per gallon of water. That's not a whole lot and the label probably says do this every 2 weeks or so. You're not using enough to cause excess growth and cause issues. It's enough to keep them fed and happy. You can even go weekly like MAK does. I would go weekly for sure on potted plants that have drainage. You're leaching out nutrients every time you water those. If you're using one of the hose end deals you're good. Just follow the label directions and once that's diluted down from the water mixing it up you'll be fine. Trust me that Scotts/MG has those labels dumbed down with enough buffer in there so us basic DIY guys don't screw it up.
