Golf is 80% a defensive game. You don't have to beat the course; you have to be one stroke lower than the next guy. You've got to get these boys trash talking at a world class level as early as possible. The fine art of getting in your opponent's head and causing them to completely melt down is highly under appreciated. You don't need a short game if your opponent is shagging balls in the woods. I'd get them an air horn, a book of Bill Burr burns, and then maybe think about a solid golf coach.

Everything turns around a braced right knee. It creates coil in your back just like a spring.

I can't recommend these enough for players who want to increase distance and consistency. They have free drills available on Youtube and you can do the work at home.

For any high handicapper or someone starting out. This is legitimately the best training tool i have used:

It is called the Orange Whip - About $100 on Amazon. They sell a shorter version that would be great for a kid!

Noodle balls. When all else fails, hit a noodle.

Swing speed. Also take the driver away and have drive with a 3 wood and knock the hell out of it. Way more forgiving and will give them confidence at swinging hard. Then jump up to the driver

They need to learn to drink heavily while playing, smoke cigarettes and leave half smoked ones burning all over course, you must be able to keep a score card for 20 dollar 2 downs in a foursome with everyone swinging everyone. You must be the life of the party in the 19th hole and be able to close it down nightly.
