I had a friend reach out, who doesn’t fish very often, and ask if we can get on some fish. I told him it would be hot but the fish are eating good in full sun in the middle of the day. With sweat dripping down our arms and legs, we got into some good fish on a main lake point in 17-22ft of water. After we were able to boat several large white bass, down about 4 bottles of water and eat a cooler of ice cubes, we decided to make a move to find some bigger hybrids. We moved to a spot that was about 24ft of water that is near a flat off one of the islands. The hybrids decided to surface the last hour and half of sunlight. We finished the outing with 25 fish of which 15 were good hybrids.

I use artificial. I actually make my own. They are Mepps style clones that are weighted heavier. In total the bait weighs approximately 1/2oz.

Wow, good trip. I bet the guy wearing the black T-shirt was miserable. I had on a dark t-shirt in the back yard for about 10 minutes and it felt like I was baking. Haven't been wearing nothing but long sleeve quick dry light colored shirts lately. I see people out in the current conditions wearing black clothing and black caps all the time. Even the fire Dept was doing rescue drills at the lake this week in pants with dark t-shirts, and they were drenched. Fishing sure looks good for you guys, thanks for sharing..

He was miserable. Didn’t fish half the time. But the catching was so good, he had to pick up a pole. I’m with you, I got some long sleeve 65% 35% poly cotton blends with a hood.
