I was on the border in Hof, FRG when it came down. Last true border tour for my squadron. I was with 2nd ACR stationed in Bindlach and we had the tri-zone, our camp was in Marktredwitz. The wall came down the day after I flew back home.

thank y'all for your service.
My second biggest regret. We should raise our kids to want to go to the military for at least a short time to show our patriotism in our country and wellness to die for her in protection of our families. I would strongly discourage my children from joining these days. so its a mess I agree, but how do we keep this country safe and protected? I don't have a good plan for fixing this but as you have said do we just quit. Bob I don't have the answer except prayer

My son was in the Navy for 10 years. I think it was a great experience for him. He got out and used his experience to get a great job. I would recommend the service for nearly all high schoolers today that have no idea what they want to do with the rest of their lives.

Name the legend. I can't remember his name, but he was the one who wanted to bomb the $h!t out of everyone. Might have been Curtis Lemay or some-such. I think he even ran for VP once.

I was in 1/2 as well in Bindlach and I got there right before the Hohenfehls rotation in September of 89 and stayed through Desert Storm. I went to Hof that fall. Good unit.
