he only wants 5 million for it but I bet he will haggle a bit.

I went to a family reunion sometime ago, There was an older cousin and she had a 35mm camera and was taking pictures.

Some of the younger generations kids were kinda making fun of her for not using a phone/camera.

I got to thinking a lot of family pictures go away when a phone is lost or stolen or a person dies and relatives don't know a password or two. Just my thoughts.

That's why I back them up to the cloud.

Mine is backed up also, but I just need to make sure somebody else knows password or knows where to find it.

Hop: It is likely you can still recover any data you may need, either by pulling the hard drive from the non booting computer and connecting a hard drive docking station to your useable computer

Or boot from a Linus Live Distro and recover data that way, holla if you have any questions.

Anyone considering purchasing a new laptop or desktop feel free to PM me with price range you are considering, how you will use the unit and any other pertinent info
and I will be happy to send you some suggestions for your cosideration.

There are a lot of choices out there and some of them can get real pricey while not affording you any real benefit unless you are that kind of user.

cheers

We bought my son an hp that has an i5 processor, windows 11 and a 256 gig sshd that's more than capable. It's a 15" and was less than $500.

As to back up of personal data, It is my opinion that a external hard drive is a better backup option
just from the simple point that you have control of where your data is.

I am just waiting for one of the cloud based backup options to get Ransomware and decide not to pay

Anyone remember Equifax?

been a long time but I think the tower for this pc has a second hd capability, have to crack the case again to find out.

I think the toshiba just got too hot a couple of times and messed it up, hd should still be good, I hope. lol

almost all my costa rica pictures are on it and some other stuff. it bit the big one before cloud and I were acquainted. apparently one of my updates activated the cloud and backed stuff up, I also have a 500gb separate backup drive but it has been offline for a while. I back up to that then disconnect just to be sure.

Hop,

I bought one of these a few years ago to recover files from the hard drive of a dead PC and it works great. May want to give it a look if your tower PC route doesn't pan out.
