I would like to do it with a SD card. Does anyone have the latest update they no longer need? I would buy it and pay shipping. Thanks. I really don't want to do it with active captain. Having some issues.

Call Garmin. I have active captain and I just let it connect via wifi and leave the phone connected. It will download and let me know an update is ready. No probs with the 1222. If you can describe what probs your having, it might help. I wish my HB app would work as good as the Garmin app. HB is the best knees, but their app needs allot of work.

Im me if you have questions..

That is exactly how I did it on my 1022.

For $22 on Amazon you can copy to your own SD.

yeah, I will do that next week. I was having issues and called garmin. They told me to update. I told them it was the GLS-10 box. It came to a head today and finally quit. GLS-10 box toast. Exchange from Garmin for $320. My computer doesn't have a card reader so I thought if someone had just done it I would get them a few bucks so I wouldn't have to. I got access to one so I will update when I get the new box. Thanks.

The updates are not hard to do through your phone. Just make sure the micro SD is in your units. You download the update from Active Captain then go connect to the unit through wifi. Takes 25 min to an hour based on how big the update is.

You can do it.

What issues are you having? I’ve had a 1022 for 3 years and never updated

It started about 6 months ago every once in a while I would get "GLS-10 transducer not found check network" error on screen usually immediately after starting the big motor. So, I thought it was voltage related. Check batteries, change battery etc still do same thing. Got to doing it more often. Usually I would keep rebooting it or shutting master power off etc trying different things to solve problem. Reset defaults, all kinds of things. last couple weeks it started screen freezing after fishing about 20 min first thing in the morning. Usually reboot and wouldn't do it the rest of the day but the last couple days exactly 2 hours to the minute after start up it would lose connection to the transducer. After lots of choice words and un plugging connections and rebooting many times it would finally go. Work great for exactly 2 hours and quit in the middle of fishing, same error. Yesterday, never did get it to work again. called Garmin. Went back and forth with them, they said need to update. I said I'm not getting ant red or green flashing lights from the unit. I posted looking for update. Went to lake this morning it fired up and worked exactly 2 hours and never worked again. Unit wouldn't even give me a sonar button on my menu, all it would let me scroll through was mapping. Hooked another black box up and reset and I got to select my sonar and livescope went to working. Last week trying to troubleshoot it I started running the black box on Dewalt battery to take my boat battery out of the circuit. Stopped the freezing up but still got the GLS error message.Mine was 3 years old.
