Have a Cabela's 6 wt 4 piece with a broken tip - last 5 inches. It is a decent rod but not worth the cost of sending to Cabela's repair facility. They do not sell individual sections. Any alternatives to just getting a new rod? I suspect it will not cast well if I just glue a tip to the end of the broken section.

I would look on Sierra.com, they are usually clearing out some older model fly rods. I think I saw a few TFO and Redington on there last week. You can find some good deals on there.
Good Luck

Thanks, will check them out. Also looking at lower-priced used rods for sale thinking I can just use the last section (if it will fit).

Check on EBay. I buy most of my fishing stuff there. You should be able to find the exact rod or a replacement. I would also go ahead and replace the tip on the broken piece and give it a try. It might not be the best rod, but could be more than adequate for some species or as a backup rod.

I have bought so much stuff from Sierra, it’s almost embarrassing. I bought one of the sweetest Powell 5 wt fly rods I have ever had in my hand. A buddy used it once on a trip we took to Beavers Bend, and he asked me to sell it to him every time we went fishing after that.

I highly recommend Sierra for closeout fly fishing items and gear. Honestly, I highly recommend them for anything you’re looking for! Every pair of hiking boots I own has come from Sierra.

Just my two cents.
