American Standard
single stage
4 ton unit
$12,500 Dang! What seer is that for? We replaced our old 5 ton unit (10 seer) with a new American Standard 5 ton - 14 seer this April and it was $5100 installed.
Some folks mouths, flat out runs their minds.

$12,500 Dang! What seer is that for? We replaced our old 5 ton unit (10 seer) with a new American Standard 5 ton - 14 seer this April and it was $5100 installed. We are not talking apple to apple here... I got three quotes when I did mine for 5 ton 16 SEER and they ranged from $11,800 to $14,500. I went with the middle quote because I trusted the guy and they had tremendous reviews including from my own neighbors, that was just over 12k with TopGun Air. Mine was like the whole home unit, heating and cooling is $5100 for just part or something?

$12,500 I don't know your financial situation, but if you are planning on living in your house for any length of time, I would opt for a two stage variable 17 SEER or better unit. The quote was for a 15 SEER unit. Total replacement that didn't include any duct work. He climbed into the attic and said the duct work was good and re-useable.
