Fishing was decent this past Sunday on Quitman, but not great. Winnsboro has been a beating since February.

Haven’t been to either in over a month. May hit one this weekend. Holbrook has been fishing pretty well. Took 25lbs to win a tourney a couple weeks ago. I got 4th with 16 and change

Man it sounds like Fork is as bad as it has ever been. Talk to alot of guys that are just as frustrated as the OP. Haven't been since last fall and have no plans of going. Hope the lake gets better in the next few years. Should have been a good spawn this year.

Has been horribly tough for me. They are not where they were when the water was up before the draw down to where it is now. I don't have the electronics to effectively fish "unknown" deep or suspended, so I go to what is known and they aren't there either.
I haven't seen any schoolers either.............I can't seem to even find a wad of white bass to even catch!
Scattered and suspended is what it seems like to me...............hard environment to catch fish in unless you have FFS and a lot of time to look.
PM me to let me know how it was!

Same where I'm at. I'm waiting for the weather to get out of these 100 degree days before I hit the water again this year.

You are not the only one. It is super tough. Last year I had the best year since the 90s and had some 60 plus fish days with some 6-8 lbers every trip last summer until turnover. I blanked last Saturday. Fished around 6 hours afternoon to late evening for dinks or anything shallow and deep. The four of five trips before that I have only caught 1-3 but they have been giants. Had two overs around 25” in the 9-10 lb range. Water is a funky color right now. I think all the flooded vegetation decaying has them in a funk plus the water has been slowly rising all summer. I think they have to be spread out and holding shallow/suspended in the top of the timber offshore. usually the suspended fish will school every now and then and give themselves away this time of year but haven’t seen that. I have marked a lot of fish at a few of the usual summer places but they ain’t biting. It also seems every time I get to go the wind switches to the north, dies about noon, and is slick calm the rest of the day.
What has me jazzed is I am seeing tons of fingerling and yearlings in the shallows. I mean like 100s. We had a great spawn this year. Expect winter/next year to be really good barring something crazy.
To your question……I have heard Holbrook has been doing well.

Check the Bass Clubs Lake Fork Anglers post for yesterday. Some caught them good and some didn’t catch any. They fished from 6 till noon. Yesterday fishing Zone 1 Big Caney Creek arm only. Join the club as a co-angler and $40 for a Thursday tournament gets you on fork with some good fishermen.

Been tough for me too. I have 3 spots where I can usually get bit and it's been that way for years, but zeros there all year. I can scratch a few out, but I've got to work hard for it. I've fished Fork pretty much exclusively for years and this is the worst it's ever been for me.

Rog - I bet you are on to something with the "decaying vegetation"
All of that flooded shorline veg that is now starting to decay is probably acting somewhat like the turnover does and pushing the fish to scatter and suspend.
Add to that the weird weather with just enough rain to keep the water temps cooler than normal and the level stable to slightly rising and you have the fish still scattered instead of grouped up deep.
Either way, I need a change of scenery!
PM me to let me know how it was!

good lord boys were in the dog days of summer! It's tough everywhere like always! lol. Sorry to disagree. Typical years if you are willing to get out there around 11-4 you can milk run deep spots on a regular schedule once they set up in the summer and the weather doesn’t change drastically. This year it’s just not happening. They set up nice before the Skeeter but since the week of Skeeter till now they scattered. The thing most missed last year is the bass set up on the same spots they always do but those spots were 7 foot shallower with the water down so they stacked up in 9-14 fow last year and schooled almost all summer at the right times. Very few were touching them cause they were looking out deeper or staying in from the heat. Beartetta I think I know where they are over there and heard of some doing really well but I know they fish tournaments and I don’t so have left them alone. Hopefully “they” don’t jack with what’s holding them…….

Haven't been to Holbrook in a good while so I can't comment on how the fishing is going, but I do like that lake and I prefer the ramp on the southeast side of the lake.

Holbrook is fishing fine too. Has its good weeks and bad weeks, but even bad weeks are good. I use the ramp on the south end, mid lake is fine too, All mentioned, even Winnsboro, are better options than Fork, but a full day is hard to put in on the 3 mentioned so far.
