They probably get the boat at a discount. If you give someone $50,000 cash it costs you $50,000. If you give him a prize "valued" at $50,000, but because of a sponsor deal it only costs you $40,000, you saved ten grand.

The Triton Certificate I won was like a boat anchor, couldn’t be transferred to anyone, was only valid for 6 weeks then boat had to be ordered. We sold out for way less money to a dealer who would buy it. Next time I’ll order the boat and eat the taxes and fees then sell the boat.


Same as my Nitro certificate. Not allowed to sell it to an individual, local dealers wouldn't touch it, my Happy Gilmore check says $30k, real life check from a dealer in MO said $21k.

I sold mine to an individual. Must have changed it. No happy Gilmore check though but I think it was the first TTT event I think ever lol
