I have a 2005 Skeeter. The carpet and seats are old and torn. I plan on getting new seats at https://www.bassboatseats.com/. But, I really like the non slip white bottom of a bay boat. Not sure if that is the correct way to say it. If I remove the carpet can I paint / apply a non skid white ???? paint on the floor of my Skeeter. Something like this from Amazon.? I know I can recarpet. But my fishing boat is a fishing boat. I just want to scrub and brush and rinse the interior. What are the pluses or minuses of doing something like this and what is the best product?

Your going to have your biggest challenge doing the cleaning and prep before you can paint the product you choose. It's a vital issue to do the best cleaning of the surfaces.

I get the fishing boat thing, the only reason the bassboat manufacturers have done the carpet to begin with is the can and do cover up a lot of issues with the lack of details in the finish of the deck surface. But I am like you, I am not nor have I ever been into the carpet...

The one thing to keep in mind here is your going to be dealing with two different surfaces, the deck has most of the surface of the aluminum compartment lids. The other surface will be the fiberglass. So just realize that painted, the aluminum deck lids just don't finish out like the fiberglass does...

I am going to be replacing the carpet on my Triton TR-21 as you, my carpet is still perfect shape, I just hate it in a boat, heck I don't even have carpet in our house either lol.

I am going to put the Seadek product in mine. If you have not checked this stuff out, you might have a look/see before to paint the deck paint. This is just another option, it will cover issues and different floor surfaces better than just the deck paints.

Seadek

This stuff is easy to clean, easy to stand on and really easy to look at. It's also easy to install.

I hate carpet also. No business in a fishing boat.

I’m a big fan of safe floor. It lasts forever, never gets slick. It’s not do it yourself or is it cheap. Your biggest challenge is your lids, you’ll need to use yeti cooler type hold downs to keep them in place without the carpet filling the gaps.

I took out the carpet on my 2000 bluewave, a couple of years ago. I went with Tuff Coat,
Prep was hard , application was easy. I am very happy with the results

you can use garage floor epoxy and toss a tiny bit of clean sand on the first coat, put 2 more over it when it gets real tacky.

have done a couple of pontoons like that and it works great. go gentle on the sand, it doesn't take much.
