Two gallon bags of catfish equals about sixteen pounds.I can normally get eight pounds in a ziplock gallon bag and close it. Yeller cat is about as good as it gets in the eating department. Mine usually dress out around 40-50% of live weight depending on the methods and time one uses, some get more meat with considerable more time. That is a nice fish regardless of weight, if caugth on a rod&reel it was a real blast that few get to enjoy.

I bet it was good eating. Yellows are the best eating catfish....to me anyway. well said!

I dont care what you say that isnt a 40lb yella. I am with bigcat, 25 tops. And if the weight doesnt matter then dont put it. I really wish folks would weigh their fish if they are going to give a weight, I have walked up to the cleaning tables to many times to see a "40 lber" just to see that same old 20lb cat again.
Please weigh your fish.
