So I live in a neighborhood, and I fish the ponds about every day, there are some big bass in there, and this pond is very weedy and has lillypads, but it also gets fairly deep, and it is darker water, I was wondering what lures and colors I should try to use to catch some big bass? Thanks

Welcome to the Forum! I would look into weightless senkos around the grass edges and lilly pads, maybe a fluke too. Another thing you can try in the evenings or early mornings is a frog

Watermelon with red flake will get it done in almost any pond. Green pumpkin if it’s stained a little.

For big fish throw a frog! Work it slowly around the weed and pad edges, don't set the hooks too soon, hold on tight and have fun!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

Float tube if allowed at the pond. Outside edge of the deepest cover with a heavy drop shot with a paca craw. At least a medium heavy rod 50lb braid 3/0 Gammakatsu superline hook 8 inches above a 1oz egg sinker.
Cast to the edge of the deepest cover and wait…drink some water….wait and be ready….have a snack, but be ready; it will happen.

What town do you live in? Maybe someone close can drop off some goods.

“Here’s the pond I fish, what should I do to catch fish?”

Smdh. I could rape a pond with a fairy wand, bag of senkos, and a wacky hook.

some good suggestions posted already! if you are just starting out, learn how to work a Tx rig and a weightless soft plastic. learn how to work the bait and how to detect strikes by feel and by watching your line. wherever you go in the world, a tx rig will catch fish. a 1/8 slip sinker should get the job done. spend the extra 1.50$ and get the good worm hooks! soft plastics: a baby brush hog, senko/stick bait, trick worm, or power worm will all get bites.
good luck. let us know how you do!

+1 for the weightless "senko". I most often use Bass Pro Stik-O in sure thing color.

9' fly rod with large popping bugs and streamers, learn to lay it down soft and then hang on.
10# 8' leader off a floating line and #9 rod/large capacity saltwater reel with backing.
and there ya have it, or you could toss a weightless 10" worm/#6 or 7 hook trig style, toss in the pads and slowly bring back while swinging the rod side to side, make it look like a small snake swimming. let them take it, count 3 then set hook. black/blue, watermelon/red, green pumpkin/blk flake, dip the last 1/4" of tail in chartreuse dip it.
