Reading this I think I suck at bass fishing You and me both! Don't feel so alone. I'm in the same boat! I've been fishing 16 times this year and 5 of those I've skunked. The most largemouth I've caught in a day on the other 11 trips is 5. “The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.” ― John Buchan

Overall, probably one per hour. But I fish top almost exclusively. If I fished live bait (senkos or d/s), it'd be a lot more per.

A normal "good" day in an area with a population north of 6 million people for 1 person with novice skill is prob 6-10 fish in 8 hours. I consider it a "good" day if I catch 10 or more bass.

I work in helping private lake owners with this exact situation/question. Many of my collegues in the lake managment business have settled on a goal of 6 bass an hour as great fishing on a private lake. 6 would be the goal, the reality is we are averaging almost 4 an hour at our Private Water Fishing Lakes. With more than 100 lakes we have some that average less than 1 an hour and some that average 8 an hour over the course of a year.

Even on my own pond it varies greatly with the time of year. In the spring it is not unusual for me to catch about 25 in an hour. Lately, about 2-3 per hour.

How many bass do you catch per hour on average? I feel like I'm doing good if I catch a limit of keepers within 3-4 hours on the lakes around DFW. I don't think I'm that great at bass fishing, but I always try to improve every time I'm out on the water whether that be a new technique, learning a new area, etc.
I've seen guys say that they catch 10 or more keepers per hour. After fishing lakes around the DFW area, I don't see how that's possible to consistently catch that many keepers per hour year round. If they truly are catching that many per hour, why aren't they competing on the national circuits? Probably cause they aren’t stupid enough to give up their day job for dream of fortune and glory. There are a lot of guys that could but most either don’t have the desire or the money . Fishing is not a good business model for most of us. J. D
I got all day I’m retired

An old pro told me to not let grass grow under your a$$. He has a topwater in his name and I bet a few of you guys can name him real quick.
Fish per hour? I'd take about anyone on a bet on how many per hour.
Steez seems like game to me.
