LONG, LOOONG story short is this. I/we haven't got to go fishing in about the last 3+ years due to my wife's illness and then her passing. When I worked up enough want-to to go fishing, the boat needed tending to, carburetors, batteries, trolling motor, trailer tires.....ya know, STUFF!!!
Well, the rig is ready and willing, so am I !!!!! I fish mainly on Ray Hubbard because it is so close. I have been out there 4 times and only had enough fish for 4 taco's!!! How can the old patterns change that much? I can find them on the Garmin, but can't seem to get anything to bite!!!

The threads about the tail-spinners is a very interesting one, indeed. Gonna make some up today!!!!!!!

ANYONE? ANYONE??

Religion is a guy in church thinking about fishing. Relationship is a guy fishing thinking about God!

I agree with Todd. Call John Varner and ask him to take you on a fish and learn. I’m did this about 15 years ago and it gave me a lot information that I was able to build on over the years. It saved me lots on gas and frustration. He also became a friend in the process. He’s great guy with a wealth of knowledge.

Shoot me a PM I am on the lake every weekend. I second the Varner advice as well, he showed me how to catch the fish last year I have been on them ever since.

Dog Days of summer are here. Fish are moving fast and want smaller baits. Try slabs with a couple of Crappie Jigs tied above it. Thumpers and splashers will helping keep fish under you. Try the deep-water points and mid lake humps off the levees. Top water has been for a short time early in the morning but want last long.

I agree with the others JV Guide Service John is a great choice he can catch fish in the parking lot! roflmao
