Does anyone on TFF know a good guide?
Heading up for a few weeks and want to go out with one for a day to learn.

I cannot help with the guide, but honestly I don't know that you "need" one there. My first smallmouth trip ever 3 years ago we drove straight through from Houston to Mille Lacs at the end of August, dumped the boat and started catching fish. We were there for a week and caught 'em every day on Mille Lacs and one other smaller lake close by when the wind blew too hard. No giants boated, but loads of 2.5-5# on the trip. I literally do not remember catching a single dink. But good luck with your search and consider me envious- it's an awesome fishery. Sent you a pm with a smaller lake nearby that we wrecked them on when Mille Lacs was too rough.

Just got back from Mille Lacs about 10 days ago. Fished four days, landed 157 smallmouth with 50+ over 4lbs and quite a few over 5 lbs, biggest just over 6 lbs as weighed on Rapala tournament scales. Three guys in the boat, each one of us could have made a five fish stringer at 22-24 lbs every day. Our guide was Mark Olson, would highly recommend him for a trip (I only know how many we landed because he has a clicker counter mounted on his Ranger!!). Dream trip for sure!

I have used Josh Douglas who fishes the Elite Series. Great guide.I do not think the would be guiding during that time due to tour dates.I bet he could get you a couple of solid names. It’s a short season. Short notice might have quite a few booked up.

I have tried several times to contact Josh in his Facebook page. PMs and in comments. No reply. If you have contact info for him I would like to have it.
