Can we spend it on a wall and moving liberals back to cali? I wish. This would raise the IQ of Texas and reduce the load on all services. And move yankees back up north while we're at it. As long as you’re with them. I don’t care what group you leave with, just GTFO.

I think the average CD rate these days is 5%
5% of 50billion is 2.5 million. $2.5 Billion in interest. $50 Billion and the state can't rebuild the dams on Dunlap, McQueeney, Placid, Meadow, Gonzales, and Wood lakes. Ridiculous..... Why did we have to build toll lanes? I thought we were broke and couldn't afford better roadways which "required" getting private funding involved? Adding a lane or two to the existing roadways wasn't a viable long term solution to metro traffic issues. I'd guess those lanes did pad some bank accounts of the current and past politicians from foreign interests. Remember how we needed the trans Texas corrider so badly? And of course there wasn't enough cash available to provide better oversight to the power grid.... Start drilling again . Low gas price . Bump up the road tax on gas and let each city budget their money for road projects only. I think Spain is running Bush toll roads

Texas Rig CountThe active rig count numbers are back up to a reasonable level- just not peak numbers. There was no problem finding foreign money to largely subsidize highway construction. Today, I have the option of sitting in traffic (after dealing with years of construction) or pay $1 + per mile of toll road- usually a $5-8 minimum trip. Politics rarely involve finding what works for the public benefit, especially if it involves compromise. But more of what's more beneficial to the politician when the issue is decided.
